The blip is The Angel of the North, by Antony Gormley. We passed this sculpture on our way, it is at Gateshead.

Completed in 1998, It acts a landmark for the southern approaches to Gateshead and Tyneside.

Visible from the A1 and A267 roads and the East Coast Main Line railway.
