Wild berries
Wild rasperries at Loch Fyne. They appeared at dinner, too: transformed into a rich pink granita, the essence of summer berriness. Just one of a sequence of extraordinary dishes - bright fresh startling combinations of sorrel, peas, barley, mackerel, woodruff, lamb, radish at the little restaurant at Inver. A gift from my friends V & K, to mark the start of a new year.
We saw an osprey hunting. And a curlew cried as we walked by the shore after nightfall.
My first night in a shepherd's hut (note: Highland shepherds must have been wee folk) & my first pre-breakfast skinny dip in a loch.
