        I got a bad feeling coming across US60 between Springerville and Quemado as I passed several eighteen wheelers travelling west . . . traffic was very light coming across through the Narrows (usual pit stop at La Ventana). Reach I40 and traffic seemed normal in both direction. Did I read that flashing sign correctly: I40 closed at Rio Puerco bridge? Sure enough I approached a long line of dense traffic and was able to leave the Interstate and loop around through the Canoncito Indian reservation along with several others who had the same idea . . . what surprised me was when I rejoined I40 at the Rio Puerco bridge traffic in the west bound lanes was backed up to the top of Nine Mile hill . . . whew what a mess. Tale done.

        Beautiful sunset . . . I did walk this morning sans camera because it was raining
