Eyes set on beach

Great news! Reuben's hearing implant has fused to his skull rock solid (weird right?) and he's good to go for the smaller hearing aid to just pop on once we've visited audiology. Just think of it like a dental implant and you won't feel so squeamish. And because Dr West has preserved his hair follicles, his hair is growing back where shaved. She'd inserted a sleeper port in case this one didn't fuse to his skull.

Good news is great news. Some may go through life thinking bad things are going to happen and then in reality, life is actually OK. I feel quite the opposite. I go through life thinking good things will happen and I get whacked monumentally with tough challenges. So, when I'm told great things such as this, it somewhat causes Reuben and I to do the happy dance. And that's exactly what he did in the Dr's office.

I dropped some application forms off for charter schools and as I looked through the school gates, I somewhat felt like Cathy yearning "Let me in at your window-ow-ow".
