No Drought This Year
This has been a Record Setting summer for rainfall here in North Central Florida, as in most of the Southeast. Flooding, of course, is always a serious concern as is the emergence of Molds and Mildew. Respiratory problems increase alarmingly. Mosquitos understandably worse than ever! Many large trees are toppling because of the deeply soggy ground. I fear for our two old, huge Laurel Oaks. So far, so good. However, on the flip-side of this coin...
Not much fear of drought conditions this year and wildfire is not an immediate concern as it has been all summer in the Western and Central states. Ponds, lakes and rivers are being revitalized, amphibians are hopping for joy and serenading us every night. Waterfowl are ecstatic! Everywhere you look...the world is a beautiful verdant paradise!
"My barn having burned to the ground, I can now see the moon!"
