Terillium

Dierama

… or Angels’ Fishing Rod. Promise to be spectacular this year. They come in various shades from pale pink to deep purple. I planted several into the iris border so they could provide movement and interest when the irises had finished flowering. They are tall and the flower spikes seem to float above all the other plants. Last year they didn’t perform well- think they were dried out at some stage. The common name comes from the shape of the flower spikes seem and they tend to be used by ponds and other water features. It’s something of a misnomer because they don’t really like wet conditions.
