Meikleour fishing
Thank you so much for all the stars, hearts and lovely comments on the occasion of my 2000th blip. I find it difficult to believe that I have posted that number of photos, even more if I count extras. I love the contact with blip friends near and far and it is one of life’s pleasures to view your daily blips and read your journals.
Today Nick was fishing at the Meikleour beat on the River Tay. Meikleour is probably best known for its known for its beech hedge, planted in 1745, it is the longest hedge of its kind in the UK and the tallest in the world. Having said all that we didn’t visit the hedge today, just the river.
Bertie and I had two enjoyable walks along the riverbank and saw quite a few a large salmon breach the water three times but nobody seemed to be catching anything.
My main is the intricate trunk of an old sycamore and the extras are scenes I enjoyed before the rain started in earnest around 3.00pm. The third one shows the confluence of the River Isla with the River Tay, a very popular (and expensive) place to fish, near where Nick was fishing at a fraction of the cost.
