And Back to the Critters...

It's Echo Moth Time again! Here in NC FL July marks the Echo Moth, Seirarctia, emergence event. Echo Moths are found in thickets, scrub woods and open areas in Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Mississippi.Their's are the speediest caterpillars I've ever seen.They run everywhere and dine on coontie, cabbage, palmetto, crotons, lupine, oak and persimmon. These handsome moths aren't dangerous to humans but their caterpillars' hairs may cause skin irritation if touched.
