Shiny Happy Daisies

I took almost the same photo as this yesterday as an option but today Arlo decided to join us with monkey... I didn't ask him to... he does like lying here, he can see everything going on everywhere. 

Over the past few weeks we've been tidying various bushes and trees around the driveway... tidying... clearing... and it's opening up views we've not had for 30 years. 3 weeks ago the view behind Arlo would be blocked. 

Since it seems like it will rain for a few days tomorrow, I took the plunge and started taking down the smaller of 2 larch trees at the end of the driveway. Over the years Scottish Power have pruned them to prevent them touching the electricity lines on one side (they did once), but it has meant all the growth is on the other sides and hangs over our cars. We need the space so they need to come down, the smaller one was about 5m and took me about 4 hours to tackle. I've left about a 2m trunk which I may leave to the people who take down the +10m tree next to it. Again, we've got some new views already... and some more piles of branches!
