After a while the bees on lavender and butterflies on knapweed start to blur and run together, and we look around for something else...

I really liked this, straight out of the camera. I'd been taking macro shots of marmalade flies with the flash diffuser, and I noticed the clump of dried nigella seed heads under the apple tree... worth a go, I thought.

I think it's the palette of muted greens and russet golds... and the small aperture has give it a textured backdrop that wasn't intentional but stands well against the structure of the subject.

Ah well, like it or don't like it, do go Large. Is it flower enough for Friday?
