Reflections on St Fagan's

Today (yesterday) we visited St Fagan's Castle which, for those of you who don't know, is the Welsh Folk Museum. I first visited this museum over 40 years ago and it has developed a lot since then.

I went with my honorary brother Pontycyclops with the main aim of trying out my new Canon DSLR.

This is St Teilo's church - the most recent addition to the collection of buildings from all over Wales. I just loved the reflected light off the whitewashed walls. Here are a few others of the beautifully decorated interior. Would you believe that most medieval churches looked like this? It's like a comic strip, telling the story of Christ and St Teilo to those who could not read.

The mocking of Christ - love the barbs coming out of the mouths

But probably the most exciting thing was watching a family of Spotted Flycatchers behind the church, with the adults feeding the young. Never seen a Spotted Flycatcher before. All in all our bird list was 18 species for the day. And a lot of wasps!!! And children. Not sure which was worse.
