I am on the second book in the "on the calculation of volume" series which is a riff on the Groundhog Day concept (reliving the same day over and over again). Very good meditation on how much we make our lives and how much we have to compromise with reality. Very well written. A third book is due out later this year.

My day was the usual mixture of compromise and doing stuff. I was particularly delighted to get a refund of over £170 from our domestic appliance insurer who had been charging us for a dishwasher we haven’t had for the last three years. They even gave us 8% interest as a gesture of goodwill. Chuffed.
