Will they run dry?

After a swim I went to the allotment before it got too hot,
I did lots of strimming round the edges and all the plantains on the grass paths..
No need to cut the grass as it is brown.

We do not have any piped water so will never get a hosepipe ban but one year some of the  hand pumps ran dry. At present they seem OK and each one has a bath or old water tank or something underneath which is kept filled. There are many pumps spread around the allotments ( this is just four I passed today..the one I use has the bath underneath) and a team of volunteers kindly maintain them. It is not a LA allotment but owned by the Royal Parks being adjacent to Bushy Park. It was originally one of the paddocks for horses at Hampton Court Palace.

This afternoon although it says the temperature is only 23C it is very very humid and unpleasant.

I will be watching the Women’s football this evening.
