Woolacombe
The weather forecast was predicting better weather in the morning so we got up and headed out earlier today.
First stop was Woolacombe. What a lovely, huge and well kept beach.
Loads of surfers enjoying the waves.
We paddled as we walked along the beach and back. Free parking for National Trust members :)
Then to Croyde. Lunch at Billy Budd’s which was delicious - the three of us shared loaded nachos and loaded fries. Youngest pair recommended this place to eat.
More free National Trust parking and we walked past Croyde Bay to Baggy Point along a narrow cliff edge path. Walked back a steeper but safer path.
Then to Barnstaple. Wandered round the town, decided not to eat at a Lounge restaurant (a favourite with us) as it was too early so headed back to Ilfracombe.
Went to a nearby restaurant but having sat down decided there was a funny smell so left there, went to an Italian restaurant but it was too busy so ended up at Wetherspoons.
Not our preferred choice but actually really enjoyed my sticky Korean chicken and rice. I avoided having chips having had them at lunch.
Rained in the evening. We were so fortunate to have warm and often sunshine today when we were out.
Nice day. Lots of steps!
