Leeds & Liverpool canal

Day one. Leeds basin to Apperley Bridge 9.5 miles.

My feet are sore, and I should have carried more water. The pot of tea and piece of Victoria Sponge at Rodley helped sustain me.

Took train back to leeds, 15 mins to cover the distance that took me four hours to walk.

No boats on the canal, the water is low.

Saw lots of Dragonflies, some as big as a budgie (slight exaggeration). And 2 pairs of swans raising 7 cygnets.

Next stage when my feet recover!
