Saltram House folly

Facing the River Plym estuary is a folly known as the Amphitheatre which is now no more than 3 carved columns with lintels across, standing in front of a disused quarry. This unusual gargoyle is carved into each of the lintels. Saltram is a fine Georgian house set in a large estate, now owned by the National Trust
