Special service
(15/7/25)
We made it to the service just in time! We had a tiny but dedicated congregation. I love the way this church does communion. It is the neatest I have ever seen!
The special meeting was to vote on closing the church. It is too sad for words. The minister, Graham Hoslett, conducted the meeting with a lot of care and sensitivity. I had to get a few pictures to record the day, so have made a collage. The cakes were from yesterday's concert. They were much appreciated.
We found a great Sunday Roast at the Ragged Robin in Godalming. It was formerly the Beefeater and has only been open for three weeks. They must be doing something right because the place was busy! I felt a bit sorry for the staff who had to be full-on! And that was the one and only meal we ate as it was so large, we couldn't face any more food for the rest of the day.
An awning had arrived on Friday, but because there was still some jet-washing left to do on Saturday, we decided to wait to put it up. This evening, we got help to install it from our neighbours in No. 2. Everything was going well until a nut fell through the decking, so tomorrow, we have to go to B&Q for a replacement. *Sigh*
It gave us a great opportunity to get to know our neighbours better. We finished with Aperol Spritzers (courtesy of rachelwhynot) and installed the solar string lights that also arrived on Friday. :))
A much cooler evening than the last few. (Phew!)
