Cycad reborn
The cycad that we brought (with Arclight's help) from the UK has been gradually dying off over the last 2 years. We moved it outside for the summer, fully expecting that its next move would be to the compost pile.
I was looking at the plants on the patio today, and was astounded to see that it has new growth.
It rained hard overnight, and today has been very windy, with occasional very light showers. I did three loads of washing, and if I'd risked hanging it out, it would have dried in no time. As it is, it's on the indoor racks.
W fetched Husky first thing, and we've set him to work overtime for the next week or two, to make up for his holiday. We then tackled a bit of gardening - W tidied up the madly sprawling tomatoes in the greenhouse, I started to work my way round the flowerbeds, pulling up the many weeds.
I harvested broad beans, peas, and runner beans - we've had them for dinner. And picked the 10 or so sweet pea flowers - they're in a vase.
