Pelican of London
A visit to Oban this morning on a warm sunny day. When eating a bacon roll from Kronks we could see this sailing ship come into the bay, at this stage just turning around to find its position. Later it has settled in. How on earth do the sailors know what to do, where to do it and when. A complex looking system. Respect.
We had plenty of time and home on the 12.15 ferry, when not in a rush it is always good to talk to strangers, today we sat next to Canadian woman living in Edinburgh, she was on her way home from a music festival on Tiree, she had this enormous back pack. We all ate and talked, an interesting character. Later when on the ferry coming home a Swiss couple sat at the same table, they are heading for Iona for two night, to stay in a pod, afterwards onto Tobermory for a couple nights and at the weekend over to Skye. On our last visit to Oban we came across a couple holidaying in an elderly Hymer, (I had take a look and touch the motorhome, similar to ours (sadly not any more). They proved to be very happy to chat, again they lived in Edinburgh. They had a good outlook on life, and roamed around the country in the van, both looked very happy.
