I went out for a short walk this morning and took my long lens because it’s a very windy day and not one for macro photography, unless I sit looking at wasps.
I disturbed a crow, which I think was after one of the coot chicks on the pond. It soon scurried into the undergrowth.
I did meet a couple from our patch who were looking for fresh grass for their Guinea pigs so we stopped and had a catch-up.
The birds have mostly gone quiet now they’re starting to lose their feathers, even the chiffchaff has given up. I did spot a couple of jays as they squawked their way into the trees and the young green woodpeckers are still expecting to be fed.
It’s a long time since I’ve seen a greenfinch and was delighted to see my only silver washed fritillary of the season. Both in extras.
