Multi coloured

This is the only photo I’ve taken today. We now, at last, have the forecast rain. There had been a bit this morning but it looked like another false start then as we came out of Pilates in the village the big spots started to fall.

We passed this on the way back home and I managed a quick phone shot despite the rain. I’ve been watching it develop and I’ve blipped it before though I think that maybe the flowers are a bit smaller this year due to the dry conditions.

A first this year is we took the car on to the garden centre for lunch instead of walking. Fortuitous as it turned out as I ended up buying two more dahlias that had been reduced to £3 each. I had thought of getting one as the ones we have in pots in the kitchen step have suffered a bit in the hot weather whilst we’ve been away, but when I saw the price I got two!  I couldn’t have managed them if we’d been walking.

Rain or no rain we are off to the pub soon for a drink with friends.
