The trees and greenbelt that were cleared earlier this year near the lovely market town of Beverley where I live, has now started to be developed into a . . . . new road system! For some reason, one of the workmen has left a sun flower standing inside the barrier fence. It looks as if it is trapped and trying to get out, yet the threat of the earth mover makes the outcome inevitable. Why someone left it I don't know. Maybe a twinge of conscience, maybe a sign of mockery to all who would disagree with 'progress'. Maybe saying "Here's a symbol, you can't escape, we'll get you in the end!"
