Homeward bound...
... heading home where the weather promises to be a delightful 18°C with an 89% chance of rain—so basically, guaranteed sogginess. Sorry folks, that's the end of the UK heatwave!
On the way back to Caen, we stopped at the same restaurant we visited on the way out. Sadly, no Caesar salad on the menu anymore—disappointing. But we made do and actually enjoyed what we had (even if it wasn’t what we wanted).
Then came the mad dash to Carrefour (on Bastille Day, no less—also a bank holiday) to find the chocolates G requested. Mission accomplished we changed our plan...
Swapped the 4:30pm ferry on Tuesday for the 11:30 pm on the Monday.
Now sat on a ferry that’s been air-conditioned within an inch of its life. Trying to get some sleep, but it’s hard to nap when you’re part icicle. UK arrival at 6:30am… followed by a 3-hour journey home before we can crawl into our lovely, lovely bed.
