The Weathercock

Normally a weathercock or weathervane can be found on the top of a (church)tower. This one I saw in the corner of a staircase in an old convent in Delft.

I tried to trace the story but couldn't, so I just guess it used to be on the top of the nunnery tower. The light falling in from the small window on the copper bird was just perfect, so I hope you like the result.

Sometimes people used to use them as target practice, but I couldn't find any bullet holes in this one. If you press the 'L' for large key you can take a better look!
