Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway
Headed off our for coffee this morning.
Then daughter and I spent two happy hours on a cookery course - we made Cornish-ish pasties and scones. They were called Cornish-ish cos we’re in Devon and they have to be made in Cornwall to properly call them Cornish!
We took our bakes to the cottage to share with hubby for lunch.
They looked and tasted great. Whether or not I can replicate them when I’m home is another matter!
After lunch we drove to Lynton. Pretty place, and like everywhere else in North Devon, very hilly.
We got the funicular railway down the cliff to Lynmouth, another pretty place full of shops and eateries. All the beaches we’ve seen here are shingle and grey sand. Prefer yellow beaches. Played putting. I was rubbish!
The cliff railway is an amazing bit of Victorian engineering. It’s powered entirely by water.
It rained in the evening and is much cooler.
Started a jigsaw puzzle.
