The house that Horace built...

Well, obviously Horace Walpole didn't do the actual building work himself, but Strawberry Hill House was his home and it was the inspiration for the original gothic novel. You can read more about it here. It's another of those local gems that I was blissfully unaware of until very recently. Today we only visited the gardens and the cafe, but you can expect a blip of the interior of the house in the not so distant future.

This afternoon was an excruciating experience watching England hunt down the last two Indian wickets to win the test match and take a 2-1 lead in the series. If you are a cricket fan, games don't get much more tense and thrilling than this, if you're not a cricket fan this whole paragraph will be meaningless to you :-)
