Back garden barbecue
Most of the day I prepared for this evening: deciding on the salads and pudding to go with our barbecue tonight, making a shopping list, popping round to the supermarket to buy ingredients, and cooking/assembling the food (a green salad, a couscous and bean salad, a turmeric rice salad, and lemon possets). I also made a vat of boeuf bourguignon so that we will have three portions for Tuesday night when Richard is with us, and two to freeze as a ready-meal for our next self-catering holiday.
Our guests this evening were Jon, Hadil, Katharine, and Jack. We were very comfortable outside until the haar started to roll up the road from Leith. We finished our cheese course (thank you Jon), then the party moved into the sitting room for coffee/tea, chocolates, and more laughter and chat.
I have blipped (a little of) Mr hazelh as he cooks some of Crombies' best burgers, sausages and kebabs in our back garden.
Exercise today: small amount of walking.
