Empty Chairs and Empty Tables…
Second day in the cafe at YorkGate.
I was the first volunteer there so wrote out the special’s boards, put up the umbrellas on the outside tables and then put the cushions on the seats.
Had time to take a quick photograph before we had our first customers, which came in thick and fast when we opened at 10am. It’s very popular with locals at that time.
Lots had admired the painting from yesterday so you can see more of the artist’s work here. Really striking and l really like the exhibition but l wouldn’t want it in my home. There was some information about the artist but l didn’t have time to read it. Next time maybe as it will be up for a few months.
We were busy all morning despite the heat and we never stopped, no time for a break but you can have a drink on the job and l brought home some cake for later.
Home now and looking forward to the tennis, so hoping to see a proper match as l was disappointed with the one sided affair yesterday which really did show agony and ecstasy in less than an hour.
