The shot you get when...

someone shouts 'No photos, please!'.

This icon of ranches across the Great Plains is a long way from home.

Currently residing in the back yard of the 'Annie Reynolds / Luke Cage House', part of Avengers: Doomsday film set in the grounds of Windsor Great Park. Not sure if it's a genuine Aermotor or just a movie prop. If genuine, Aermotor Windmill is the only windmill manufacturer in the USA.

The company's history is deeply intertwined with Chicago, where it was founded in 1888 by LaVerne Noyes, a Chicago manufacturer. LaVerne Noyes hired Thomas O. Perry, a mechanical and civil engineer, who experimented with 61 different “experimental wind wheels” before he settled on what became the Aermotor windmill. Only 45 Aermotor windmills were sold the first year they hit the market in 1888. But by 1892, Aermotor was selling 20,000.

Today, these wind-powered water pumps are manufactured in San Angelo,  Texas.
