Imitation

This is an "emergency" blip which has turned into a philosophical discussion with me and myself.

Having seen so much wonderful art just recently and seeing things that imitate other things and reflect aspects of other things I've seen has made me think about the old question "What makes something art?"

Sorry... don't have the complete solution to that conundrum. Maybe it's about manipulating colours, textures, shapes, objects etc and making something else of them. If that's the case then this is art.

If the sea urchins took their patterns from the light bulb then they must be artists. Or was it the lightbulb designer using the sea urchins and making artisitic lightbulbs?
