Belfast

on the 12th July

A great place to be. Full of colour, energy, passion.

I set my alarm for 6am. Shower. Pack. Drive to Blackrock DART Station at 6.45am

Arrive in Connolly early for 7.50am train.

Arrive Belfast 10am

Tasty Breakfast on the move. Arrived at great viewing point at 10.30am. . Among young guys who told me they had been partying since 8pm the previous night. They offered me some beverages and some sunscreen. How kind. They asked could they guess my name. They guessed it was Eileen.

3 hours of marching bands, banners, flutes, baton swirling, bowler hats, orange sashes, sunshine, that great Belfast accent

I have had a great day and I could honestly write a book about it.

Just home now. And a bit exhausted.

But I had a great day. I love Belfast. I recommend a visit.
