Time To Melt

I tried to find the time today
But it wasn't where I looked
I checked for it behind the fridge
And in the ventilation duct
It wasn't in my pocket
so I admitted in defeat
Just like everything else today
It'd melted in the heat

I really did not fancy leaving the house and the blessed shade today, but alas, I was in need of reading material. So off to the library I waddled, from shaded area to shaded area, trying not to get too hot.

Outside of the library, one of the stall holders on the Saturday Market had a hi-tech thermometer, and was telling all with enough energy left to listen that it was 34.5 degrees C ambient temp in the sun, and 29.8 in the shade.

34.5 °Celsius!

Still I manged to survive, get a good novel, and return home without sunstroke. So yay!

But the heat inspired the doggerel that appears at the top of the Blip text; that and the fact that somehow I lost an hour or more.
But my internal clock has always been somewhat dodgy.

I didn't do too well with photos today, I'm afraid. The NEX 5 is a fine little camera to tide me over until I can buy something better, but it doesn't have a very good screen and no viewfinder (my main issue with it) at all. So as you might imagine, knowing how well you've nailed the focus is a bit difficult in bright sunlight.

But this one seems pretty well focused, if not quite perfect. And near enough is good enough when you're desperate to get back inside and turn on the fan.

Hope you're enjoying the weather wherever you are. Despite my moans, I am too.
