Small Tortoiseshell

When I was a youngster the small tortoiseshell was probably my most regularly seen butterfly in our garden.  In recent years they have become a much less common sighting for me, indeed this was my first sighting of one this year.  Hopefully I have just been a bit unlucky and they are doing ok as they are very attractive.  This was a lovely fresh specimen.
