A Pedestrian Blip

A busy day going to meetings well outwith the office, including a train ride.

I decided to walk part of the way to the first meeting because I had plenty of time and was in an area of town I don't particularly know. As I was walking along, I thought that it would be nice to find a public toilet. As I am unfamiliar with the neighbourhood, I thought this unlikely. Then I turned a corner and there was this public convenience.

It was truly convenient. It was clean and well supplied and bright and pleasant. And free. What more could you ask for? Is it just me, or does it seem like there are fewer and fewer of these places? I'm not sure why the chain was up so high but I eventually found it and am thankfully tall enough to use it.

It may not be much of a photo, but for me it reminds me of a time when I was grateful for a public service - a little oasis of sorts.

A quiet evening in reading Children's Panel papers and wearing wooly Hebridean socks.

PS I have no idea if the Men's section was tiled in baby boy blue.
