Tourists
It was a sad start to the day. I woke quite early. The windows were all open and I heard an odd noise. When I opened the blind after 6 the private ambulance was sitting over the road and I knew that my neighbour had died. So sad,. She would have been 96 in less than 2 weeks and had been slowly dying for a while.
I cycled to the pool in the sunshine. Only the second time this year. It was busy, like dodgems.
WH had again weaker into town to work and #1 soon and I bussed into town later, to be tourists. First a wander round the Old Quad so he could point on where he led parades, then the Museum for 2 hours. We met up with WH there and wandered down to Princes St, passed Greyfriars Bobby, to M&S and then a picnic in the gardens. It was hot! But the puffa jackets had been left at home.
Then a climb up to the Castle which was hidden by the stage for tonight's performance. #1 soon couldn't believe how busy it was, tourists and walking tours. Welcome to the Edinburgh theme park.
Down to St Giles and an interesting walk round there then we can't home just after 3. I was glad. I could feel my back and legs, all that slow walking and standing around. #1 soon went for a run up Braid Hill, I sat in the garden with Olivia, she was under the umbrella, and later WH and Amelia went to the party park and #1 son headed back to n town to meet his friend.
We had fish 'n chips (and wine) in the garden though then order was slightly wrong so after a call we ended up with an extra fish..
They had a movie inside and I sat outside the front in the very warm sun, sewing till after 9.
Then it was time for me to get the girls to bed and head that way myself.
Summer indeed.
