Friday
We've had a busy, very hot day!
After a beach dog walk, we went drove into Belfast, to our son's house, and did a few maintenance jobs. The main one being to fix the garden gate.
Another walk this afternoon.
We've seen several more pallet bonfires. None as big as yesterday's and definitely none as big as the one at Sandy Row as photographed by wrbradley.
Really, we'd love to see one alight and enjoy a unique cultural experience but that isn't going to happen.
It stays lighter longer here and fireworks were being set off at about 10.15pm. It wasn't dark.
News from home is that there were two fires in our locale. A house at the top end of our road and a garden shed along the Bath Road. I called my eldest to see what was going on but all they could tell me was the number of fire engines using up the water supply meant the pressure was low and the water brownish. I then received a text from Wessex Water telling me the same.
I don't know if the fires were caused by this heatwave. Nobody was injured but a family have lost their home.
