Water lily

Another very hot day, so after I had made a quick visit into town we had  a quiet afternoon. We booked a gentle walking holiday in Northern Ireland for next June. 
This evening we went to see our friends Co and Ch to discuss plans for a wildlife event we are arranging in September. They are very hospitable, and we sampled some of Co's delicious sloe gin before  they pressed three home grown courgettes on us. Co joined us on our walk home about 11pm, to take a quick look for glow worms, by a path.We found two, one we definitely hadn't seen before because it was in a new location.
The water lily in our pond has produced its first flower this summer.
