Spielplatz an der Aareschlucht

Our last full day in Switzerland. We drove over the beautiful Furka and Grimsel passes one more time on route to Meiringen where we stopped for lunch. We then headed to Spielplatz an der Aareschlucht, a beautiful gorge. It has a man made pathway making the walk straightforward. The gorge is a mile long varying from 1 metre to 30 metres wide. At the end there is a request stop to get a train but excitedly the “station” is entirely in the rocks, you press a button to request the train to stop and the doors in to the rocks and onto the train only open when the train arrives. Great fun.

Back to base it’s time to get packing (and turn the remnants of food here into dinner).
