So hot here today that I might have to take off my alpaca socks knitted by my great great great great Aunt Hortenstance on the eve of the charge of the light brigade to honour Lieutenant-General James Thomas Brudenell, 7th Earl of Cardigan.

I read recently that Cardigan spent the eve of the battle oh his private yacht citing,

‘Any fool can be uncomfortable.’
