Noise...

I came here for peace anď quiet, but the sound of my neighbour's clacking chickens is overwhelmed by the sound of crickets.
I chose today because the weather is relatively cool, with a gentle breeze, but I wasn't expecting this racket. I have read that the sound level is direclty related to heat, so the hotter it is, the more noise they make. I dread to think how it will be later in the day. It didn't occur to me to bring ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones.
I opted for improvised ear plugs made of 'tissue paper.' Better than nothing.
