Bird of Paradise

After Moira woke up from her afternoon nap, we spent some time walking around our yard smelling flowers, looking for butterflies, birds and bees. She also was looking for bunnies:) Since we did not see a single bird, I settled on my Bird of Paradise plant in our backyard. These flowers got their name because of their resemblance to a brightly colored bird in flight. This plant usually blooms from September to May. It was pleasant surprise to see this early bloom.
