Thanks!
Thanks Blipfoto for my wonderful prize.
What great fun to get to pretend to be a photographer, and to walk past the queue, and to get to the very top of the stand and to stand in the rain watching the Mexican Hat Dance, and the New Zealand Army doing 'Gangnam', whatever that is.
Thanks to the Tattoo folks for looking after me. I only wish I could have also watched the Tattoo without a camera - perhaps I'll have to go back another year.
I don't know if this is the best, and what with the day job, won't have a chance to go through them all for ages. I just know that my computer is full of photos now and it's going to be a while before I can calm it down. I thought this view from the top of the stand was appropriate, but perhaps there are great shots of the Mexicans or Mongolians or Omanis or the child motorcyclists and I'll have to do something on Flickr.
I was quite (unnecessarily) stressed by the opportunity, and then having to think about the rain and the lenses and getting the right settings and all that kept me busy - not enough chance to chat to Honined . Great fun, and an amazing privilege.
Edit: Yep, I've had a good look, albeit on the camera. If I had downloaded them all it would have taken days to pick one.
Edit: oh yes. Saw a good chunk of David O' Doherty's show before running off up the hill to the castle. Well worth the slight rush.
