A trio in blue!
Tuesday
First off, this isn’t my photo, but one our daughter Laura sent us and I liked it so much, I wanted to share it. She is currently in England, introducing Liam to the family over there, since most won’t be coming to their September wedding. They are currently staying with Roger’s sister Janet and husband John, who live just down the road from Roger’s Dad, and are care-givers for him - he couldn’t still be in his own house if it wasn’t for them. So this was taken in the rose garden at Dunham Massey, a favourite outing for Bernard, and it’s really quite close by. Laura sent it with the caption “ It’s a miracle, Liam smiled like a normal person!” Liam doesn’t like having his picture taken, and I think some of it goes back to having to undergo several jaw surgeries when he was a child, making him rather self conscious. It certainly is the most natural smile I’ve seen on him, but it’s a lovely picture of all of them, and a special occasion to remember, since with Bernard at age 96, going on 97, there won’t be many more opportunities. It’s been a special few days for Bernard, since on Sunday he became a great grandfather, when Matthew and Claire, Son and daughter-in-law of R’s other sister Pamela, welcomed their first child into the world, Freya Hazel.
As for our day, R was at church cutting the grass this morning, and I went for a neighbourhood walk, not very long, as already by 11 am it was already hot and humid. In the afternoon I had a hair appointment, which turned out to be pretty quick, as I arrived early, but Donna was already ready for me, and it was just a cut and blow dry, so I was soon back home again. R went for a cooling swim when he got back from his grass cutting duties, but having just had my hair done, I stayed home in the cool, doing my usual activities.
