Interview

After our late return home last night, we had to be up early today, to get ourselves to Holyrood Palace. It was the gold award celebration event in the Palace gardens. It wasn’t the brightest of days, but we somehow got through the morning with nothing more than a few spots of rain.

After joining the lengthy queue to get in, we eventually got into the gardens. We wandered and met up with BB’s friend and his parents. We listened to one of the speakers (James Cosmo), but didn’t bother with the second one. We headed to the refreshment tent. They had cupcakes and hot drinks on offer. The cakes were were nice.

Next was a speech from the Duke of Edinburgh, and an inspirational speech from Eilish McColgan. The Duke’s speech felt quite off the cuff. There was also a speech from one of the gold awardees.

We went for a wander around the gardens and the ruined abbey. I bumped into a couple of colleagues and apparently there was a third colleague there too, but I didn’t see him.

Once it was all done, we went for lunch with BB’s friend, and had a really lovely afternoon. We were all very weary when we got home. I eventually dragged myself out to pick up a couple of pizzas for later. Once back home again it was time for my pjs and some TV. It’s been a lovely, but busy, couple of days.
