Flying Home

The flight home by these Canadas will no doubt be more reliable than some of the glider pilots today!! Dinner was late at the Gliding Club tonight as one or two of the teams or pilots carrying out their tasks have not made it back to base and have landed out in fields (hopefully) and their syndicate partners in the particular glider share are obliged to hitch up the glider trailers and embark on the 'search and rescue' mission. (T was one such 'search and rescuer'). This time last year I went on a retrieve with T to fetch his syndicate partner who had landed out not too far from the V Fest - you can imagine the nightmare of taking the long glider trailer through all the road blocks and diversions, but we did find Mac and the glider in the middle of a huge stubble field. - No humans or animals were hurt on this exercise I'm glad to say but the glider sadly didn't get away so lightly.

There was the most beautiful sky this evening.
