Glacier Express

We headed out from Andermatt to Chur on the Glacier Express today. It’s a lovely mountain train with massive windows to really see the views.

Once in Chur, we got a bus up the valley to Churwalden to play on the alpine coaster there. It was David and Fred’s first time, and we think they enjoyed it!

Back to Chur, then back to Andermatt on an ordinary train (but still lovely views).

At Andermatt, David and Fred took the train down the valley back towards Lake Lucerne, while Annie drove our car crossing over in formation with the train. It’s a famous bit of train line because it loops around madly as it descends the valley. Annie would have taken roughly the same amount of time to descend by car on non-motorway roads, but she stopped to get the extra: the train with David and Fred passing the car en route.
