Fields of gold….

Things here are hotting up again and another heat wave around the corner.
It begins with 29C maximum tomorrow and then rises to 33/34C by the weekend.
It was quite pleasant this afternoon at 25C, when I went to have a coffee with the Pilates ladies. I will be rejoining their group in September.
I stopped the car on my way home and took this photo.
A lot of fields have already been mown and hay bales waiting to be gathered.
Just such a beautiful view in the warm sunshine under that blue sky with its high white clouds of different shapes.
We’ve not long had our tea and I will be having an earlier night.
I had my usual 2 mile round trip walk yesterday morning with Stephen stopping for a coffee at the Farmhouse Bistro.
A large group of men with one young woman came in and they had American accents. Aside from the lady they were all rather large and were ordering traditional English breakfasts,
We were all sitting in the annexe which is open at one side on to the field where there are picnic benches and also tables and chairs,
I noticed several of them were speaking in Spanish.
We were both intrigued by them and I asked them where they were from,
California was the reply, Around Los Angeles.
We then had a great conversation with them as they waited for their meals. It turns out they were a film crew making a documentary about Ozzie Osbourne, who was lead singer with Black Sabbath in the ‘70’s and was born in Birmingham.
Recently he gave a concert at Villa Park, which was his last, having been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. The whole Aston Villa football stadium was packed out, Brummies love him.
So they had been there and filmed,
After this week they are going up to Manchester where a lot of other well known bands originated.
They asked me if I liked Heavy Metal and Rock, what do you think I answered?!
I told them I was a teenager of the 60’s, which were great for music here. But also liked Oasis, Blur, Kings of Leon amongst others.
And the list could go on.
Anyway it was an interesting encounter!
Of course yesterday evening meant I got to bed later than usual, but I was wide awake after a lovely time and it was after midnight when I settled down! Which accounts for some of the tiredness today,
