Geothermal power

You can just see steam rising from a geothermal power plant.

We got back from the last (long but fantastic) day of the trek in the small hours, and had to be ready to leave for the airport at 7 am. It was very nice to have a shower which didn't involve queuing for a long time or paying for 5 minutes of hot water. You might deduce from this that not much showering happened while on the trek, but I am properly clean again now...

Very sorry to be coming home. The trek has been fantastic, and Iceland is like no other place on earth. It has certainly fuelled my volcano fascination as well. I think we'll be going back....
