The Race
Fab day spent in Adventure Valley, on the outskirts of Durham City. We met up with two of my work colleagues and their kids. It's a MASSIVE site with loads to do, so even though it cost over £20 to get the girls and I into the place, we were there for a good seven hours, from just after it opened until it closed. We had our money's worth!
The children all had so much fun and were able to roam around trying out the various soft play, climbing frames, inflatables, etc and watch the shows (birds of prey, goat racing...) Arwen stayed with the grown ups at a picnic table 'base', but had a lovely wander about nearby and enjoyed seeing the animals. Almost lost my phone at one point though when Arwen knocked it out of my hand into a pen of alpacas!
In this photo, all the kids watching the birds of prey show were asked to race the falcon (which is on the post at the left of shot). Only one or two were quicker than the bird! Grace loved the show.
On the way back we had a McDinner drive thru and took it to my sister and brother in law's place to eat.
All in all a brilliant day.
