They seem to be coming into their own at the moment.

I've spent much time today stitching patches on a quilt. It's not an actual quilt, it's supposed to be the story of my life, but as I've written so many pieces already, the task has been to stitch them together while not losing the sense of flow. My worst thought is that readers will say, "we've heard all this before." But if you hang in there, you may be rewarded. I'm still in two minds about whether any of this is worthwhile, but I'm doing it anyway,
